Canatu Announces Record Breaking 12 µm Flexible Transparent Conductive Film at Display Week 2016
Canatu, the leading manufacturer of next-generation flexible and 3D formable transparent conductive films and touch sensors, launches an ultra-thin CNB™ Flex Film at SID Display Week 2016 in San Francisco, where Canatu is exhibiting atbooth #1410.
Canatu’s 23 µm CNB™ Flex Film has already been breaking records as one of the thinnest conductive transparent films in the market. Canatu is now taking thinness and flexibility one step further, introducing a new ultra-thin 12 µm film. The new 12 µm CNB™ Flex film is made with the unique Carbon NanoBud® material which enables folding and forming without any interference to conductivity. Unlike ITO and metallic based materials, the CNB supports extreme bending and folding, making it particularly well-suited for wearable, foldable and rollable devices.
“We are extremely excited by this new addition to our offering. No one else can offer the flexibility and device thinness that we currently do, and naturally we are very proud of this achievement. SID’s Display Week seemed like the most appropriate venue for us to showcase our thinnest film yet for the first time”, explains Erkki Soininen, Canatu’s VP Marketing and Sales.
CNB™ Films boast superb light transmittance with its zero haze, zero reflectance properties, providing for high contrast displays with great outdoor readability. Canatu’s films have 95% optical transmittance at a sheet resistivity of 100 ohms/square with a minimal 1% change in sheet resistivity after 150 000 bends at 1 mm folding radius.
Canatu’s transparent conductive film portfolio consists of CNB™ Hi-Contrast Film optimized for flat projected capacitive touch devices, CNB™ Flex Film optimized for wearable, flexible and foldable touch-enabled electronics devices and CNB™ In-Mold Film optimized for 3D formable capacitive touch surfaces. Combining the award-winning contrast with extreme flexibility and thinness, Canatu’s films are especially suited for wearables, flexible devices and applications demanding touch surface formability.
