Canatu is seeking a

Semiconductor Equipment Engineer


for development of nanocarbon production equipment for semiconductor applications.

Canatu has developed a unique nanocarbon material, Carbon NanoBud (CNB), and a manufacturing process based on Floating Catalyst Chemical Vapor Deposition.  The core of Canatu’s automated CNB production system is a CNB synthesis reactor.

Canatu is now expanding its manufacturing into semiconductor applications.  Semiconductor Equipment Engineer will be a key player in Canatu’s business expansion.  You will be responsible for CNB manufacturing equipment and process development for an exciting new class of products for semiconductor industry utilizing unique properties of CNBs: free-standing films for EUV pellicles.  You should have a solid background on relevant industrial process which will help you to develop a deep understanding of Canatu´s core technology.

The position is located in Vantaa, Finland, and will involve traveling particularly to Asia.



  • Design and develop semiconductor grade nanocarbon (CNB) reactors and related processing equipment
  • Develop and improve semiconductor grade CNB production equipment system architecture, including functional, mechanical, electrical, gas handling, and control logic/SW systems
  • Drive continuous improvement of the CNB production equipment for better performance


Experience and skills:

Must have:

  • 3+ years of industrial experience on development of and/or design of semiconductor equipment (e.g. ALD, CVD, MBE, MOCVD, PVD, sputtering)
  • Experience on semiconductor level cleanliness solutions
  • Experience in gas flow systems and hazardous chemicals
  • Good English written and verbal communication, preferably also Finnish
  • Ability to learn fast and work independently at customer interface with minimal guidance
  • Solid problem-solving skills, customer-oriented mindset and “can do” attitude.
  • Good time management and interpersonal skills.
  • BSc or MSc or PhD or some other similar degree in Engineering.

Nice to have:

  • Experience from logic and memory technologies
  • Project management skills
  • Hands-on experience on mechanics and automation
  • Familiarity with inspection and test equipment.
  • Experience with gas and vacuum simulation and design software.
