Canatu will present the most advanced transparent film heater for ADAS (Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems), at the Plastic Films in Mobility Conference 2023 in Würzburg, Germany. The conference will take place on April 26th-27th.
The Canatu film heater is a key enabling technology for ADAS. It keeps the sensor cover clear of ice, snow and fog ensuring autonomous driving in any weather. During the presentation, Mari Makkonen, VP of Marketing and Communication at Canatu, will highlight the unique properties of Canatu CNT, applications, key benefits for LiDAR, latest developments, sensor manufacturing process, and integration methods.
Additionally, the presentation will explore a joint solution by Canatu and Covestro; a production-ready polycarbonate LiDAR sensor cover with an integrated film heater. The Canatu film heater is fabricated on a LiDAR transparent and 3D formable Covestro Makrofol® polycarbonate film, and integrated by film insert molding with robust, lightweight and laser transparent Makrolon® PC resin. The final molded component is robust, lightweight, LiDAR transparent and completely wire-free, ensuring reliable LiDAR sensor ranging and autonomous driving in any weather.
The Plastic Films in Mobility (FoFa) Conference has been a platform for showcasing the latest design and technology trends in automotive interiors and exteriors for over 15 years. It will highlight all aspects of film technology along the entire value chain, from advanced materials to film production, the associated printing, forming and in-molding technologies and other integration processes.
