Canatu awarded with a silver prize in the Materialica Design + Technology competition

Canatu has been awarded with a silver prize in the 16th MATERIALICA Design + Technology competition, in the Surface & Technology category. The competition awards the most interesting and innovative products and projects positioned at the interface of design, technology and materials.

The award was launched to honor outstanding products and concepts, that meet the following demanding criteria: In order to be able to develop high class and attractive products in the future, companies have to keep the two main features in their focus: outstanding design and high technology expertise. By perfectly combining intelligent material selection, expert engineering, a high degree of innovation and impressive design companies can gain competitive advantages.

“We are very delighted to be recognized in the Materialica Design + Technology award. This theme is exactly to which we focus when creating innovative products with our customers and partners. Canatu provides design freedom and intuitive user experience with the unique CNT materials. They enable smart 3D touch surfaces combining sleek interior design, usability and tactile sensing with electronics,”

CEO of Canatu, Juha Kokkonen

“We are convinced that the success of New Mobility depends in large part on the intelligent use of new materials and innovative production technologies”, emphasizes Robert Metzger, Managing Director of MunichExpo and organizer of the Award.

Canatu’s CNT films and sensors are used to create seamless interior design. Thin, transparent and 3D formed sensor films replace traditional mechanical operating controls. Smart 3D touch surfaces integrate functions and controls discreetely to the interiors for an unobtrusive in-car experience. At the same time, the driver distraction is decreased enabling increased safety.

The official award ceremony of the MATERIALICA Design + Technology Award was held on the first day of the eMove360° – International Trade Fair for Mobility 4.0 – electric – connected – autonomous, on 16 October 2018 in the fair center of Munich, Germany.

Canatu will be present at the eMove360° Mobility 4.0 fair at the Munich Fair Center Hall 6, booth 738N on the 16th to 18th October.
